We are in need of a Registered Pharmacy Technician who will be reporting to the Pharmacy Manager within our Aurora pharmacy. The role is responsible for performing the technical functions of filling prescriptions and assists in administration duties under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.
Assist the Pharmacist with the preparation, packaging and distribution of patient prescriptions.
Inputs prescriptions, label and consent forms in computer system
Third party management and reconciliation, filling prescriptions, printing reports, invoices, etc.
Ensures all patient inquiries regarding prescriptions and non prescription medications, uses, treatments and recommendations are referred to pharmacist on duty
Ensures customers referred to pharmacist for any restricted OTC products
Maintains flow of merchandise from receiving to dispensary and update in Kroll.
Perform cycle counts, stock dispensary shelves and orders pharmacy supplies
Monitor inventory levels and identify expiration dates
Face and fill OTC sections
Updates retails, costs and other product file information in Kroll
Handles cash, cheques, EFT slips as per cash handling policies
Performs cash register functions on POS terminals
Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to customer files and Remedy’sRx operations.
Perform other duties as assigned to support Remedy Holdings Inc
Post-Secondary education in a registered pharmacy program
Minimum 1-2 year of pharmacy experience either retail or specialty operations for Long Term Care preferred
Proficient in using pharmacy technology in providing pharmacy services to clients
Experience with multi dose compliance packaging, including Pouch packaging
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and interacting with other health care professionals
Familiarity with ISMP guidelines, Best Practices and legislative requirements in Institutional Settings
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
Superb customer service skills are essential
